Becki Biggins

Chapel Arts, Knapp Road, Cheltenham

We are delighted to welcome multi-award winning vocalist and saxophonist, Becki Biggins to Chapel Arts for the very first time! Imagine if Chet Baker, Sarah Vaughan, Stan Getz and Cannonball Adderley were rolled into one in the form of a rural Shropshire lass. Then imagine no more, and meet the incredible Becki Biggins!

Becki is a multi-award-winning singer, songwriter and saxophonist, with an incredibly unique voice and style. She is a Grammy-nominated musician, with three number 1 albums in the US smooth jazz charts. One of her biggest fans, Sir Michael Parkinson, gave her one of her favourite reviews: “Becki Biggins, great lass, great singer!”

Becki cites Donald Fagen and Michael Brecker as major influences. She kicked off her career at a young age on tour at the Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and fell in love with jazz music and its history from that moment on. Every performance from Becki is a delight, as she tells stories of the jazz greats, peppered with her own stories, celebrating great songs performed by some of the finest jazz singers on the planet.

This evening, Becki will be joined by the ebullient and passionate Alex Steele on the piano and an array of special guests. Remember, this is Chet Baker, Sarah Vaughan, Stan Getz and Cannonball Adderley rolled into one amazing Becki Biggins. Get ready for some ZING!
