Well, what a week! What a fortnight, actually, because I promised to write weekly, and fell at the second hurdle... My apologies. We're had two sickness bugs and a broken arm in the past fortnight, but happily things are settling down now. Just in time for my NEW SINGLE to come out on Friday! Whoop!
It's called I Almost Took A Lover, and is the third single from my album It's A Man's World, which is coming out in November.
I Almost Took A Lover is a gentle tale of regret. Compared to FURIOUS or I'm Giving Up On You it's a small song, but I like to think those are the ones that really get to you.
The idea for this song struck me after reading an old diary - I'd detailed an absolutely DOOMED love affair (he was with someone, I was with someone. It got very messy, very quickly...), and it got me thinking - what would I feel now, if I hadn't taken the plunge? Would I have regrets?
