From the recording Living For Today

Living for Today, the new single from multi award-winning vocalist & songwriter Becki Biggins, is the musical embodiment of a hot, exciting summer.

With Steely Dan-inspired guitar, a bridge Prince would've been proud of and the catchiest hook since McDonald's told us we were ‘Lovin' It’, Living for Today is a story about a misspent youth, simmering with tension, told by a woman who's been there and done it (and is now selling the t-shirt).

Becki is a musicians’ musician. She has co-written and recorded three No. 1 US albums with Paul Hardcastle (19, The Wizard), and her new foray into pop (from a career as an internationally in-demand jazz singer & saxophonist) comes under the expert mentorship of Producer Matt Butler, Paul McCartney’s personal recording engineer for over a decade.

Whether it brings back nights you'd rather forget or nights you'll never stop talking about, Living for Today celebrates the reckless optimism of youth. Looking back has never sounded so good.

Lyrics

Living For Today - Becki Biggins

V1
You were a wild child, back in the day
So many good friends happy to look the other way
When you were holed-up with someone else’s girl
And then you’d rock up, ready to rule the world

Pre-Ch
Everybody knew your name, flavour of the day
Jealous of the way you played the game
Anybody asked, you’d say

Ch
I’m living for today, hey hey hey
Oh! I’m living for today

V2
I’d never known a boy so in-demand
All those beautiful girls in the palm of your hand
And if you ever went to bed alone
You knew you’d find one, waiting in your phone

Pre-Ch
Played them just like a toy, loved them in your way
Different to the other boys
Anybody asked, you’d say

Ch
I’m living for today, hey hey hey
Oh! I’m living for today

Rap
The bad girls just fell at your feet, and the good ones did it too
Their boyfriends couldn’t take the heat, and cleared a path to you
It’s not that you couldn’t see the damage you had done
But you just couldn’t help yourself with women, with women to be won

Ch
Oh! I’m living for today, hey hey hey
Oh! I’m living for today, hey hey hey
Oh! I’m living for today, hey hey hey
Oh! I’m living for today
