An interview with Ross Dines, Music Manager for Pizza Express

Here’ s my interview with Ross Dines – he’s the Music Manager for the Pizza Express group, booking in hundreds of gigs each year.  If you’d ever wanted to know how to get a job as a music manager, or to get a gig at Pizza Express, this is one for you!

I also get to the bottom of dealing with those rather difficult musicians (although of course, only a couple exist…) and answer the question – is a manager really necessary?

All music is taken from my album, The Positive, which is available here.

Where I interview Moscow Drug Club’s Katya Gorrie

Here’s my second foray into interviews!  This time, I’m speaking to the lovely Katya Gorrie, of the band Moscow Drug Club.  They’re from Bristol – ace.  They play a brilliant combination of gypsy, swing and dirty-sounding Euro-folk – fab.  They mix their own music with that of Bob Dylan and Tom Waits – could this band get any cooler?

The interview was filmed at my favourite bar, Hyde & Co in Bristol, so thanks to them for letting us use the bar, and it was filmed by Dan Stevenson and Andy Torbet.  Thanks Chaps!

Enjoy, and don’t forget to share!

P.S.  The next interview has already been filmed(!) and so will be out very shortly…  But do you know who it’s with?!

BB branches out… into Interviews!

During the whole writing process, Becki was getting a bit bored, so she decided to launch a series of YouTube interviews.

She’ll chat to some of her friends in the music business, getting the behind-the-scenes information that all new artists should know, and talking to some musicians with exciting projects going on.

The first chat will be with the lovely Emily Wright, founder of Bristol-based band Moonlight Saving Time, and will launch on YouTube (and the Video Page) on Tuesday 28th May at 10am.  Join the Mailing List to get a sneak preview one day earlier.

UPDATE:  The film is now finished, and is available on the Videos page – just click here.

Solo Album of Original Material is on its Way

Becki is currently working on her first solo album of original material.  She’s no stranger to songwriting, having co-written three US number one albums, but this is the first time that her songs will appear on her own record.

She’s taking her time, so apologies if you don’t hear quite as much from her as usual, but I hope you’ll agree that it will be worth it in the end!  In the meantime, do click on the Soundcloud Link (to the right) to hear demos of the new songs. Enjoy!
